The spooky season is here, meaning it’s time for grownups to scare children and then give them candy as a sorry.
Halloween is celebrated around the world with people dressing up to creatures and homes transforming to scary graveyards. Too long the focus has been on making more complex and realistic decorations, leading to expensive stuff that you don’t know where to put afterwards.
We want to inspire new ways for creating your Halloween home a lot smarter. Adding more of an experience instead of static decorations. So what can you do?
Here is a very simple idea of what you can do:
- Put a smart motion sensor (eg. Aeotec Motion sensor) in a bush somewhere before the entrance to your home.
- Hide a speaker next to it and make an automation with the Automations function to trigger a recorded scary voice when someone passes by (Animus Heart required).
- You can extend this further by making a smart RGB light (e.g. Philips Hue) shine red light on a sign saying “HAPPY HALLOWEEN”.
Or why not opening the front door before the visitors have reached your porch. There is so much more you can do, just let your creativity flow!
